Program Overview
JUMP-Start is a 2.5-day immersive program offered free of charge to:
- Expose premedical undergraduate students to the medical school curriculum.
- Equip participants with tools for a successful application process.
- Empower underrepresented students in medicine through mentorship and networking opportunities.

JUMP-Start welcomes applications from students who identify as:
- Underrepresented in medicine
- LGBTQIA+
- Living with disabilities

To provide opportunity, guidance and support to marginalized premedical students with the goal of increasing diversity at KCU and in the field of medicine.
Program Features
Hosted by KCU medical students with the support of faculty and staff, JUMP-Start offers participants a brief but impactful glimpse into the lives of osteopathic medical students.
Highlights include:
- Admissions Workshops: Learn how to become the best possible medical school applicant.
- Osteopathic Philosophy & Practice: Gain hands-on experience with osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT).
- Mock Simulated Patient Encounters : Practice clinical scenarios.
- Interactive Lecture: Attend a session led by KCU faculty
- Mentorship Opportunities: Connect with a mentor who will guide you through the medical school application process.
- Networking Events: Build relationships with peers, faculty and current medical students.
