Counseling Services
KCU provides students, residents and fellows access to on-campus counseling services, provided by licensed full-time psychologists and therapists. The University also partners with an external student assistance program to provide 24/7 mental health support.
Your emotional wellness and mental health is a priority for our faculty, administration and staff.
In the ongoing effort to meet your needs, we've created a multifaceted approach to mental health, wellness and academic support. We encourage you to take advantage of these services, secure in the knowledge that counseling referrals and sessions are confidential and are not recorded in your file.
Our counseling and wellness services include:
- Full-time psychologists and counselors available for individual, couples and group therapy on both campuses

- Kansas City University is partnered with TimelyCare to deliver a virtual health and well-being platform for students, residents and fellows. TimelyCare provides 24/7 access to virtual care from anywhere in the United States at no cost. Students, residents and fellows are eligible for 12 scheduled counseling sessions annually. - Peer mentorship and peer supporters trained in Mental Health First Aid
- Panels for you and your significant other to help transition and cope with medical school
- Wellness seminars are offered throughout the semester, including workshops on test anxiety, relationships and Imposter Syndrome
